This experiment demonstrates Darwin’s theory of natural selection by focusing on the influence of human activity on ecological change. During Britain’s industrial revolution, pollution changed the environment causing a drastic reduction in the population of one type of peppered moths.  Students will observe how a change in the environment can influence the success or demise of a species based on genetic variability.
