This video illustrates Dominate and Recessive alleles and how they are passed from parent to offspring. An allele can be either heterozygous or homozygous. Heterozygotes demonstrate alleles of a specific gene that are different. For example, 'Aa'. Homozygotes demonstrate alleles of a specific gene that are the same. For example, 'AA' or 'aa'. In the case of heterozygotes, one allele is expressed, while the other is masked. The allele that is being expressed is defined as the Dominate allele, and the one being masked is the Recessive allele.
