Students will be introduced to the exciting new space travel technology of Solar Sails from a scientific, physical, and engineering perspective. After discussing how these sails work, students will design their own by following guidelines. This process will mirror the iterative and teamwork-centered atmosphere of engineering and will provide students with enough data to select the “best” sail design form.

Los estudiantes conocerán la nueva y emocionante tecnología de viajes espaciales de Solar Sails desde una perspectiva científica, física y de ingeniería. Después de discutir cómo funcionan estas velas, los estudiantes diseñarán las suyas siguiendo las guías . Este proceso reflejará  la atmósfera iterativa y centrada en el trabajo en equipo de la ingeniería y proporcionará a los estudiantes suficientes datos para seleccionar la "mejor" forma de diseño de vela.
