Selective breeding of species occurs in animal husbandry, while genetic modifications (GMO’s) are common in food production and gene therapy is used to combat disease. Students will explore the technologies that humans have used to influence the inheritance of desired traits in organisms. They will look at natural vs artificial selection and the impacts these technologies have on society.
